Job Summary:

As a DevOps Engineer you will be an instrumental part of the engineering team and will be the key person keeping all systems operational for customers. This position will architect, deploy, troubleshoot and maintain the various equipment, applications and tools that support DYL's web and voice infrastructure. This is a role that requires individuals to be versatile in their skill sets ranging from SIP and VoIP knowledge, IP networking, Systems Administration, CI/CD pipelines, container technology, scripting, and working with open-source systems among other things. You will work closely with the VP of Engineering and Software Engineers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with software developers to architect, deploy and support new features and enhancements to current voice products
  • Maintain and monitor VoIP systems
  • Support legacy web applications
  • Develop portions of CI/CD pipeline
  • Develop operational scripting needed to support various internal teams around items such as reporting, monitoring, and automation
  • Create documentation outlining the design and support of voice/web infrastructure
  • Liaison between Systems Admins, IP Network Engineers, Technical Architects, Support Teams, and Product Managers to support the needs of the various voice infrastructure
  • Provide final escalation point for the NOC and client service departments as subject matter expert for voice infrastructure
  • Provide training for the NOC and client service departments as subject matter expert for voice infrastructure
  • Perform occasional off-hour maintenance for voice infrastructure
  • Be available off and on net hours in case of systems failure emergency

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Good documentation skills (Confluence)
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and cause analysis
  • 5+ years of experience working as a DevOps Engineer
  • Strong Linux skills
  • Experience Ansible, Chef, Puppet or similar
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Zenoss, and Nagios
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience with RabbitMQ
  • Support build and deployment activities through the DevOps transformation
  • Experience with virtualized compute environments
  • Maintain security and data protection strategies
  • Develop and execute onboarding strategies for new technologies and processes
  • Setup closely replicated staging/QA environments
  • Experience with load balancing tools such as Ngnix, Apache, or HAProxy
  • Working knowledge of MySQL, Redis, Freeswitch, Kamailio
  • Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD
  • Proven shell scripting experience

Extra Credit:

  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch and MongoDB
  • Experience working in Google Cloud and AWS
  • Experience in an Engineering or Support role maintaining SMS and/or MMS products
  • Can explain and illustrate SIP call flows and the use of LNP to determine call jurisdiction and proper routing
  • Experience with SBC or LCR
