About You:

As the Lead Systems Engineer you will be in charge for working with developers to support their infrastructure and release new versions of our applications. Majority of time would be part of DevOps where you will be an instrumental part of the engineering team and will be the key person keeping all systems operational for customers. This position will architect, deploy, troubleshoot and maintain the various equipment, applications and tools that support DYL's web and voice infrastructure. This is a role that requires individuals to be versatile in their skill sets ranging from SIP and VoIP knowledge, IP networking, Systems Administration, CI/CD pipelines, container technology, scripting, and working with open-source systems among other things. You will work closely with the VP of Engineering and Software Engineers. This position is system administration focused however a background in programming is highly recommended.

Responsibilities: What You Will Be Doing

  • Implement and Maintain UNIX/Linux Environment
  • Work with software developers to deploy, implement and support new features and enhancements to current Voip products
  • Implement, Maintain and Monitor VoIP systems/Freeswitch
  • Support/maintain/monitor legacy web applications
  • Develop operational scripting needed to support various internal teams around items such as reporting, monitoring, and automation
  • Assist in the development and implementation of disaster recovery plan.
  • Develop portions of CI/CD pipeline
  • Create documentation outlining the design and support of voice/web infrastructure
  • Provide final escalation point for the NOC and client service departments as subject matter expert for voice infrastructure
  • Lead and mentor NOC
  • Provide training for the NOC and client service departments as subject matter expert for systems infrastructure
  • Perform occasional off-hour maintenance for voice infrastructure
  • Be available off and on net hours in case of systems failure emergency
  • Liaison between Executives, Engineers, Technical Architects, Support Teams, and Product Managers to support the needs of the various voice infrastructure

Qualifications and Required Experiences:

  • 5+ years of experience working as a DevOps Engineer, Systems Admin, Systems Engineer
  • Must have 3 years experience with DevOps Tools (Ansible, Chef, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform and other CI/CD tools)
  • Minimum 2 years experience with SIP/RTP and other real time communication protocols such as WebRTC
  • Experience with MySQL, Redis, FreeSWITCH, RabbitMQ
  • Experience with load balancing tools such as Ngnix, Apache, or HAProxy
  • Experience with virtualized compute environments
  • Setup closely replicated staging/QA environments
  • Proven shell scripting experience
  • Maintain security and data protection strategies

Skill & Technical Qualifications:

  • Working Knowledge with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Zenoss, and Nagios
  • Experience with SBC or LCR
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as Elasticsearch and MongoDB
  • Experience working in Google Cloud and AWS
  • Experience in an Engineering or Support role maintaining SMS and/or MMS products
  • Can explain and illustrate SIP call flows and the use of LNP to determine call jurisdiction and proper routing
  • Documentation skills and Workflow software (Jira/Confluence)
